Government to announce rules letting parents of migrants stay permanently

The government will announce by end of August 2025 rules allowing parents of migrant New Zealanders to stay permanently, Immigration Minister Erica Stanford's office told RNZ. This is separate from the Parent Boost Visitor Visa, which opened on 27 August but only lets parents visit — not stay for good.
