Parent residence rules expected by end of August, minister's office confirms

A spokesperson for Immigration Minister Erica Stanford told RNZ that the government was expected to announce residence rules for parents of migrant New Zealanders by the end of August 2025. The announcement would be separate from the Parent Boost Visitor Visa, which opened applications on 27 August 2025 but creates no pathway to permanent residence.
