Yoo Youngkuk painting sells for US$1.6–1.8 million at Frieze Seoul 2026, highest for a Korean artist at the fair

Kukje Gallery sold a 1971 painting by Yoo Youngkuk at Frieze Seoul 2026 for KRW 2.2–2.5 billion (about US$1.6–1.8 million), The Art Newspaper reported on 3 September. It is the highest price for a Korean artist's work at the fair since its 2022 launch. Kukje moved over 30 pieces across its Frieze and Kiaf booths by the second day.
