Madison officer kills man on same street as 2015 Tony Robinson shooting

A Madison police officer shot and killed a man in his 30s during an attempted arrest on Williamson Street on July 22, 2026 — the same street where an officer killed Tony Robinson in 2015. Cellphone footage shows three officers pinning the man before three close-range shots. Wisconsin's DOJ is investigating. Police say the suspect had a knife and injured an officer.
