Hampshire Police Under Investigation After Handcuffed Teen Dies from Stab Wounds

Hampshire's Police and Crime Commissioner ordered an urgent independent review after officers handcuffed 18-year-old Henry Nowak while he bled to death from stab wounds in December 2025. Despite telling police he was injured, Nowak was treated as a suspect because the actual attacker falsely claimed self-defense. The review will examine control room records and training protocols. One officer has resigned.
