Federal agencies monitor anti-AI protests as domestic security threat

The FBI and Department of Homeland Security have begun tracking opposition to AI and data centers as a domestic threat, according to over 1,000 unpublished federal reports. A joint alert in April 2022 flagged "Anti-Tech Extremism" as a new surveillance category, applying counterterrorism frameworks to nationwide protests against AI deployment.
