
Federal agencies classify opposition to AI as domestic extremism threat
The FBI, DHS, and fusion centers have begun surveilling anti-technology opposition movements as a domestic threat category, according to over 1,000 unpublished federal reports. The classification targets nationwide protests against data centers and AI deployment. Multiple agencies issued a joint alert in April 2022 flagging "Anti-Tech Extremism" as AI adoption accelerates, applying counterterrorism frameworks historically reserved for international threats to domestic technology resistance.
