Discord Rolls Out End-to-End Encryption for All Voice and Video Calls

Discord completed a global rollout of end-to-end encryption across voice and video in March 2026, finishing an 18-month infrastructure project that started in September 2024. The DAVE protocol encrypts messages at the sender's device and decrypts them only at the recipient's end, covering one-on-one calls, groups, and server channels. Users can confirm encryption is active via the Voice/Video Details panel during calls.
