AMD's FSR 4.1 Expands to Older GPU Models, Narrowing NVIDIA Gap

AMD will extend FSR 4.1—its AI-powered graphics upscaling technology—to older RDNA 3 GPUs in July 2026 and RDNA 2 cards in early 2027. The feature launched on flagship RX 9000-series hardware last year. Broader GPU support expands the installed base that can use FSR 4.1, closing ground on NVIDIA's DLSS, which already runs across multiple older generations.
