1952 Pan Am Wreckage Found — The Crash That Made Safety Briefings Mandatory

The wreckage of Pan Am Flight 526A, the Clipper Endeavor, has been found 2,000 feet off Puerto Rico — 74 years after it crashed on April 11, 1952. All 69 aboard survived impact, but 52 drowned during the open-water evacuation. That disaster drove the adoption of mandatory pre-flight safety briefings on commercial flights worldwide.
