Record June heat trims €2 billion from EU and UK grain harvests
Western Europe's hottest June on record has cut EU and UK grain forecasts by 9 million tonnes — exceeding Austria, Ireland, and the Netherlands' combined output. The ECIU puts losses at €2 billion for grain alone. Trade body Coceral expects the bloc's smallest grain harvest since 2018, with France, Hungary, and Spain hit hardest.
