Man charged with murder of former minister Ann Widdecombe

Joshua Kerry, 28, from Rotherham, has been charged with murdering former Conservative minister and Reform UK spokeswoman Ann Widdecombe. The BBC reported prosecutors told Westminster Magistrates' Court Kerry struck her 21 times with a hammer at her Devon home on 8 July 2026. He was remanded in custody — held in jail pending trial — to appear at the Old Bailey, London's central criminal court.
