Bluecore Energy raises $10M pre-seed for barge-mounted nuclear reactors

Bluecore Energy, founded seven months ago by former Uber Freight executive Kofi Asante, raised $10 million in a pre-seed round led by Slauson & Co., announced July 21, 2026. The startup plans to build small modular reactors — compact nuclear units a fraction of conventional plant size — on floating barges that dock near coastal communities and connect to the grid via subsea cables, powering approximately 15,000 homes.
