Startup raises $10M to put small nuclear reactors on barges

Bluecore Energy, founded seven months ago by former Uber Freight executive Kofi Asante, raised $10 million in early funding led by Slauson & Co., announced July 21, 2026. The startup plans to build small nuclear power plants on floating barges that dock near coastal towns and run underwater cables to shore, supplying electricity to about 15,000 homes.
