Archer and Anduril Debut Thunder, an Autonomous Hybrid-Electric Military Rotorcraft

Archer Aviation and Anduril unveiled Thunder at the Farnborough Airshow on July 20, 2026. It is a fully autonomous hybrid-electric rotorcraft built for military strikes, cargo, and remote logistics in austere environments. A series hybrid powertrain — an engine driving a generator that feeds electric motors — extends range beyond what battery density alone allows.
