Select committee drops binding environmental limits from RMA reform

The select committee reviewing the Government's RMA reform bills has dropped a clause requiring development to stay within environmental limits. The change pushes the bills toward enabling development. Prime Minister Christopher Luxon says the reforms will make building infrastructure easier, faster and cheaper. Labour calls the bills "even more unpalatable and unworkable."
