Select committee strips binding environmental limits from RMA reform bills

The select committee reviewing the Government's RMA reform bills has removed a clause requiring use and development of the environment to be kept "within environmental limits." The change shifts the bills toward development enablement. Prime Minister Christopher Luxon says the reforms "will make building infrastructure easier, faster and more affordable." Labour calls the bills "even more unpalatable and unworkable."
