Final Fantasy Resonance Brings HD-2D to the Franchise

Square Enix's Final Fantasy Resonance launches October 22, 2026, on PC, PS5, and Switch. It is the first Final Fantasy to use HD-2D — pixel-art sprites paired with modern lighting and depth-of-field effects. Developed by LANCARSE, it adapts a Brave Exvius mobile storyline into a standalone turn-based RPG. A playable demo was announced at State of Play.
