Sadiq Khan's Car Tax Conviction Withdrawn After Fraudulent Registration

Magistrates withdrew a car tax conviction against London Mayor Sadiq Khan after the DVLA requested dismissal. A 24-year-old Nissan Micra had been fraudulently registered in his name. Khan was convicted in his absence under the single justice procedure — a fast-track process for minor offences — and fined over £340. His spokesperson said it was not the first such scam targeting the mayor.
