Grand Canyon Flash Flood Claims One Life, 15 Still Unaccounted For

A flash flood tore through the Grand Canyon's Bright Angel Creek corridor on August 29, 2026. One body was recovered near Crystal Rapids. About 15 people remain missing or unaccounted for, while 62 were evacuated from Phantom Ranch and the lower North Kaibab Trail. The National Park Service urges anyone with information on hikers in the area to come forward.
