National park homes cost 24% more, Nationwide finds
Homes inside UK national parks cost 24% more than similar properties elsewhere, Nationwide's 31 August 2026 analysis found. Properties within three miles of a park boundary still command a 6% premium. Nationwide links the gap to planning rules restricting new builds in protected landscapes, limiting supply where demand stays strong. The premium edged down from 25% in 2024.
