Living in a UK national park costs 24% more for homebuyers

Homes inside UK national parks cost 24% more than similar homes elsewhere, Nationwide found on 31 August 2026. Even homes within three miles of a park cost 6% more. Nationwide says building rules that limit new construction in these protected areas keep supply low while demand stays high. The gap dipped slightly from 25% in 2024.
