Labour promises every graduate nurse a public health job — 2,400 a year, $525m

Labour's Ayesha Verrall has promised every graduate nurse — about 2,400 a year — a public health job, costing $525 million from existing health funding. Roles would be offered at graduation through current placement schemes, at least 0.8 full-time equivalent. Health NZ's chief nurse Nadine Gray said the agency currently offers 1,800 roles and has never placed every graduate.
