Spanish microcar startup Liux concedes a fully European supply chain is out of reach

Liux CEO Antonio Espinosa de los Monteros says "the idea of a European car does not exist," conceding a fully sovereign supply chain is unattainable — the Liux Big's batteries are made outside Europe. The startup, which opened Spain's first new car plant in over 30 years, is betting on recyclable linen-based biocomposite bodywork and home solar charging to compete with low-cost Chinese microcar rivals.
