
Labour pledges 100-day law to speed up retirement village repayments
Labour would legislate within 100 days of taking office to require retirement villages to repay departing residents' capital within three months, Chris Hipkins said. The current window allows up to 12 months. Seniors spokesperson Ingrid Leary said seniors should not wait that long for their own money. A member's bill on the issue has sat in the ballot since May.
