Labour wants retirement villages to pay residents back faster

Labour leader Chris Hipkins says his party would pass a law within 100 days of taking office making retirement villages refund departing residents within three months. Currently they can take up to a year. Seniors spokesperson Ingrid Leary said people should not wait that long to get their own money back. A proposed law on this has been waiting since May.
