Labour pledges three-month retirement village repayment law within 100 days
Labour leader Chris Hipkins says the party would introduce legislation within 100 days of taking office requiring retirement villages to repay departing residents' capital within three months. The current window is up to 12 months. Seniors spokesperson Ingrid Leary said seniors should not be waiting that long to get their own money back. A member's bill on the issue has sat in the ballot since May.
