SpaceX Builds Turbine Blade Foundry in Texas to Bypass Industry Bottleneck

SpaceX is building a foundry in Bastrop, Texas to cast single-crystal gas turbine blades in-house — a vacuum-furnace process mastered by only four companies worldwide. Musk says this could accelerate turbine availability by up to 18 months. GE Vernova, a key supplier, is sold out through 2030 on AI infrastructure demand.
