SpaceX to Make Its Own Turbine Parts in Texas

SpaceX is building a factory in Bastrop, Texas to cast turbine blades in-house. The process — growing each blade as a single crystal in a superheated vacuum — is mastered by only four companies worldwide. Musk says making them internally could speed availability by 18 months. Supplier GE Vernova is sold out through 2030 on AI-related demand.
