
Australia Considers Social Media Algorithm Opt-Out Over Misogyny Concerns
Australia may let users opt out of social media algorithmic feeds — the recommendation engines that decide what content appears — as part of its second action plan against family and domestic violence. Social Services Minister Tanya Plibersek cited data showing a new account set up as a young boy takes an average of 23 minutes to receive misogynistic, violent content. The government is designing the measure with advocacy group Teach Us Consent.
