Nepal Flash Floods: Over 600 Dead, Nearly 1,000 Missing

An August 26 flash flood along the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa District killed more than 600 people across Nepal and Tibet. Nepal Police reports 469 deaths and nearly 1,000 missing — Nepal's worst single-event disaster since the 2015 earthquake. Bodies surfaced as far downstream as Uttar Pradesh, India, overwhelming provincial mortuary capacity.
