Sudden Floods in Nepal Kill Over 600; Nearly 1,000 Still Missing

On August 26, a flash flood — a flood that rises within minutes — swept along the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa District, killing more than 600 people across Nepal and Tibet. Nepal Police reports 469 deaths and nearly 1,000 missing, making it Nepal's worst disaster since the 2015 earthquake. Bodies washed up as far away as Uttar Pradesh, India, overwhelming local morgues.
