Nepal Flash Floods Kill Over 600 Across Nepal and Tibet, Nearly 1,000 Missing

A massive August 26 flash flood along the Bhote Koshi River in Rasuwa District has killed more than 600 people across Nepal and Tibet. Nepal Police reports 469 deaths and nearly 1,000 missing — the country's worst single-event disaster since the 2015 earthquake. Bodies have surfaced as far downstream as Uttar Pradesh, India, overwhelming provincial mortuary capacity.
