Glacier Collapse Triggers Deadly Flash Floods on Nepal-Tibet Border

A glacier detached in Nepal's Langtang National Park on 26 August 2026, sending flash floods across the Nepal-Tibet border. At least 543 are dead and over 1,500 missing, including hundreds of foreign trekkers, workers, and pilgrims. The IFRC (a major global aid body) reports 93,000 affected, with 40-plus bridges and 40km of road destroyed. IFRC's David Fisher expects the toll to rise further.
