Ed Davey barred from giving blood after French holiday
Sir Ed Davey arrived at Brixton Donor Centre to encourage blood donations ahead of winter pressure on the NHS. He was turned away because he had holidayed in France's Charente region. The NHS defers donors for 28 days after travel to 13 French départements between May and November, owing to mosquito-borne Chikungunya and Dengue risk. A Lib Dem spokesperson said Davey will return once the period elapses.
