Lib Dem leader Ed Davey turned away from giving blood after French holiday

Sir Ed Davey arrived at Brixton Donor Centre to promote blood donations ahead of the NHS winter crisis but was barred after a holiday in France's Charente region. The NHS defers donors for 28 days after travel to 13 French départements between May and November, owing to Chikungunya and Dengue risk. A Lib Dem spokesperson said Davey will return once the period elapses.
