
China Pauses Tibet Flood Rescue as Debris Lake Overflows
China suspended rescue operations at the epicentre of catastrophic flooding in Tibet after a debris lake formed by landslide material began overflowing. CCTV reported teams ordered to stand by and earlier units withdrawn one kilometre. Water levels are projected to peak around Tuesday, threatening further downstream flooding including at Gyirong Port. Nepal's death toll has reached 469 with over 1,300 missing.
