China Halts Tibet Flood Rescue as Overflowing Debris Lake Threatens New Surge

China suspended rescue operations at the epicentre of catastrophic flooding in Tibet after a debris lake began overflowing. CCTV reported all teams ordered to stand by; earlier teams withdrew one kilometre. Water levels are projected to peak around Tuesday, threatening further downstream flooding including at Gyirong Port. Nepal's death toll has reached 469 with over 1,300 missing.
