Meta Smart Glasses Block Camera When Privacy LED Is Covered

Meta's AI smart glasses now disable the camera if the front-facing capture LED is covered during recording, closing a covert-recording loophole. VP Alex Himel announced the update on Threads. The fix extends a July patch that blocked tampering to also cover a finger or opaque material. Meta is running billboard ads teaching bystanders that a blinking LED means recording.
