Meta Smart Glasses Now Stop Camera When Privacy LED Is Covered

Meta's AI smart glasses will now disable the camera if the front-facing capture LED is covered during a recording, closing a loophole that allowed covert recording. VP Alex Himel announced the update on Threads. The fix extends a July update that blocked tampering to now cover a finger or opaque material. Meta is also running billboard ads to teach bystanders the blinking LED means recording.
