Meta Settlement Imposes Time Limits and Nighttime Blocks on Under-18 US Users

Meta's settlement with 29 US states sets a two-hour default daily time limit and a nighttime block on Facebook and Instagram for under-18s, enforced for five years. Parents can tighten but not loosen the restrictions. The measures apply only in the US. Meta admitted no wrongdoing. The UK government is already pressing for equivalent rules.
