AI Mammogram Study Flags Hidden Heart and Stroke Risk in Women

An Israeli study of nearly 97,400 mammograms from roughly 30,000 women, presented at the European Society of Cardiology's 2026 Munich congress, found AI detected prior stroke 86% of the time and coronary heart disease or high blood pressure at 78–79% reliability — using existing mammography, with no added cost or radiation. Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death in women worldwide.
