Burnham to host autumn summit of devolved nations' leaders

Prime Minister Andy Burnham, in post since 20 July 2026, will convene leaders of Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland for an autumn economic summit. The Council of the Nations and Regions, a forum first meeting in October 2024, has met twice yearly. Northern Ireland's power-sharing Executive at Stormont still lacks an agreed budget after summer Treasury talks stalled.
