Four killed in small-plane crash near Seldovia, Alaska

A Piper PA-24 Comanche — a single-engine piston aircraft — crashed into the Seldovia Slough just after 1:15 p.m. on August 26, 2026, killing all four adults aboard. The aircraft, inbound from Anchorage, submerged in about 15 feet of water; troopers waited for low tide to recover the bodies. The NTSB, the federal agency that investigates civil aviation accidents, is leading the inquiry.
