Jerusalem court acquits nun's attacker, orders psychiatric hold

A Jerusalem court acquitted Yona Schreiber, 36, of religiously motivated assault after a district psychiatrist found he was in a psychotic state during the April attack on a French nun near Mount Zion. Psychosis — a loss of contact with reality — means he was deemed not criminally responsible. Schreiber pushed and kicked the researcher, who struck her head on stone. Judge Ofir Tishler ordered up to six years of psychiatric hospitalization.
