9/11 Mastermind Trial Set for June 2028

The trial of four accused 9/11 conspirators, including alleged mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, will open June 5, 2028. Judge Michael Schrama rejected prosecutors' bid for an early 2027 start, citing unresolved pretrial motions on evidence and legal compliance. The defendants have been held at Guantanamo Bay since 2006.
