Kew Must Cut Its Only Cultivated Ravenea moorei — but a Wild Find Saved the Species

A male Ravenea moorei palm at Kew Gardens, once the only one in cultivation, must be felled for a 2027 Palm House renovation. Kew researchers discovered a wild population in the Comoros and successfully propagated the species; 10 young plants now grow in Kew's tropical nursery.
