Virginia Woolf's "The Waves" Staged in a 90°C Sauna at Edinburgh Fringe

The UK's first sauna theatre — an 80-seat Edinburgh Fringe venue — hosts Virginia Woolf's "The Waves" performed by actors at 90°C. The production pairs the novel's imagery of heat and dissolving self with aufguss, a sauna ritual where a master infuses water with essential oils and circulates fragrant steam through choreographed towel movements.
