Virginia Woolf's "The Waves" Performed Inside a 90°C Sauna at Edinburgh Fringe

The UK's first sauna theatre, an 80-seat venue at the Edinburgh Fringe, hosts an adaptation of Virginia Woolf's "The Waves" performed by actors at 90°C. The production pairs the novel's imagery of heat and dissolving self with aufguss — a ritual in which a sauna master infuses water with essential oils and circulates fragrant steam through choreographed towel movements.
