Actors Perform a Virginia Woolf Novel Inside a Hot Sauna at Edinburgh Fringe

At the Edinburgh Fringe, the UK's first sauna theatre — an 80-seat venue — hosts actors performing Virginia Woolf's "The Waves" at 90°C. The show pairs the novel's themes of heat and fading identity with aufguss, a sauna tradition where a leader adds scented oils to water, then waves towels to spread fragrant steam through the room. Co-founded by James Grieve and Lucy Osborne.
